Every school in your district. One license. Lights out.
Automatic PC power management for every computer lab, classroom and office, managed from one place.
Most districts have no idea how many PCs are still on tonight.
The night Marcus drove past Jefferson Middle
An illustrative example. Marcus isn't a real customer, but his district might look a lot like yours.

Every window was lit
Marcus is Director of Technology for a district with 28 schools and about 9,000 PCs. Driving home from a late meeting, he passed Jefferson Middle. The building was empty, but the computer lab on the second floor was glowing. So was the library.

Wednesday morning
The question from the board
The same week, the school board asked every department to cut operating costs and report on the district's sustainability goals. The assistant superintendent asked Marcus a simple question: how many of our computers are on right now, with nobody using them?
"I had a group policy that was supposed to shut them down. I had no idea how many it actually did."

The next two weeks
What didn't work
Tightening the policy shut down a teacher's PC in the middle of grading, and the help desk heard about it. Some schools had their own scripts. Others had none. Asking 28 principals to remind staff to shut down lasted until the next long weekend.
-
One afternoon
One license, every school
Marcus installed TaskForceCO2 and brought in every PC from Active Directory, using the OUs each school already had. Labs and classrooms shut down after the last bell, but only once nobody is logged on. Libraries follow their own hours. Servers and the district office stay on. Everything wakes before the buses arrive.
Before summer break, his team applies a holiday scheme they set up once, and all 28 buildings stay dark until August.

The next board meeting
Real numbers, not estimates
Marcus brought the savings report: energy, dollars and CO₂, worked out from the district's own PCs. It went straight into the sustainability update.
The rough math. About 4,500 of the district's PCs were being left on out of hours, for around 100 hours a week across a 36-week school year. At roughly 50 watts each and 17¢ per kWh, that's close to $138,000 a year, and around 300 tons of CO₂.
The District License costs $19,995 a year for every school. It paid for itself in about five weeks of school.
What is your district spending on PCs nobody is using?
Based on PCs left on for about 100 hours a week across a 36-week school year, at 50 watts each, before you count summer break. Compared with the District License at $19,995 a year.
Good news for everyone at the district office
Technology
One console for every school instead of a pile of scripts. Groups by school from your existing OUs, and a tiny client the console deploys for you.
Business office
One fixed price a year for the whole district, paid by purchase order, with savings that show up on the electric bill.
Sustainability
Energy and CO₂ figures from your own PCs, ready for board reports and sustainability goals.
Principals and teachers
Nothing to remember. PCs wait until nobody is logged on, and they're ready before the first bell.

Questions districts ask
Does one license really cover every school?
Yes. The District License covers every PC in every school and district building, however many there are, for $19,995 a year.
Can each school manage its own PCs?
Yes. Console installs are unlimited, so you can run everything centrally from the district office or let each school's tech manage its own building.
Will it shut down a teacher's PC while they're working?
Not if you don't want it to. Any group can be set to shut down only once nobody is logged on, so late grading is safe.
What about summer break and holidays?
Set up a holiday scheme once and apply it before each break. PCs stay off, with no morning wake-ups, until you switch back.
Does it collect any student data?
No. TaskForceCO2 runs entirely on your network and collects no user data. Nothing is sent to us or to any cloud service.
Which devices does it manage?
Windows PCs on your network, added from Active Directory. It doesn't manage Chromebooks or iPads, and it isn't designed for devices managed only through the cloud.
Can we pay by purchase order?
Yes. Use the order form with your PO number and we'll invoice the district directly. Need a formal quote first? Just ask.
Can we try it first?
Yes. The free trial is fully working for 14 days on up to 250 PCs. Most districts start with one school.
